Shahadat Hossain
Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Shahadat studied at the institute of fine arts, University of Dhaka and completed his pre-degree (drawing and painting). Bachelor of fine- arts & Master of fine arts. (ceramics) Later on he went on to study English-ceramics at the Lowestoft College, Suffoulk, England gaining an East Anglian diploma in ceramic design (with a distinction), a certificate in Industrial ceramics & licentiateship of the society of designer crafts man. He also attended artist-in- residency program (ceramics) at the Shigaraki cultural park, Shiga, Japan and the Banff center for the arts, Canada.

Major Exhibitions
Shahadat has had over twelve solo and group shows throughout Bangladesh, England, Japan, and Canada and has appeared in numerous publications including The Daily Star, The Bangladesh Times, the Illustrated news weekly, The Dainik Bangla, The monthly Manchittro etc.

He was the recipient of the best experimental class award during his Master degree at the University of Dhaka and Best national craftsmanship award in ceramics by the design centre, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

His teaching experience comes from working with children and adults during his work as a teacher at the Aga Khan international school, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has commissioned by both individuals and corporate and his works in collections of galleries, museum, club, association, public institutions, and many other facilities at home and abroad.

Present Position
Living and working in Toronto, Canada since 1996.
